A close shave at the airport

I recently had to fly for business, which is something I have not done recently.
I bought an 11 ounce can of shaving cream right before leaving.

Unfortunately, I didn't realize that you can't bring that much shaving cream on airplanes these days, so it was confiscated by the gloved TSA employee at the airport. Which meant, upon landing, I had to go to the store and buy a 2.5 ounce can -- which cost more than the 11 ounce can.

As I entered the security line, I saw a poster of a dozen men ("suspected terrorists") to watch out for.
Is there a connection between all of them having beards and the small amount of shaving cream one can bring on an airline?
