If you're expecting to learn more about Mark Twain, the writer, forget this book.
Papa: An Intimate Biography of Mark Twain, was written by Twain's 13-year old daughter, Susy Clemens. The book clearly shows her adoration and admiration, and at times her frustration. Susy felt her father, known for his humor, should be taken more seriously.
This particular edition had notation by Twain, as well as the book's editor. Picture a diary written by three people, in which two of them are editorializing about the third.
I'm still on the search for a more comprehensive book and will let you know when I've found it.
