No Excuses: Confessions of a Serial Campaigner, by Democratic political consultant/writer Robert Shrum, is a look behind the curtain of presidential politics from McGovern to Kerry. While some of the anecdotes are interesting, there is too much detail and "inside baseball" which bogs down some chapters. It reads like a Who's Who of Washington politics, going into details of people you've never heard of and business relationships you don't care about.
