I recently visited this fall, which is located about a mile above Multnomah Falls. I like this shot because it puts the waterfall in context. This is what you see when you round the bend on the way downstream. What I didn't like about the waterfall is that it is a little too close to the tourist-filled attraction sought out by millions. Too many people acting more like tourists than hikers: dogs on and off leashes, lack of proper equipment/footwear, hikers carrying backpacks with children on somewhat narrow trails, children without nearby supervision. I was surprised to see two people carrying paper Starbucks-like coffee cups, yet no water.
As one who understands the risks of spending time outdoors, it bothers me when people think all outdoor ventures are a walk in the park. There are things in the wild that can kill you, including the foolish actions by others (like letting your child throw rocks and sticks down from a trail).
Although this is a very scenic area, I'm glad to have this hike in my rear view mirror.
