Indirect mail

I'm not a fan of unsolicited mail for several reasons.
Today I got another reason why.
It was a large postcard to apply for a Shell credit card, along with two coupons to save $2 when I filled up.
Since there are two Shell stations within one mile from my house (and right next to each other, I might add) I thought it would be a coupon I could actually use.
Then I noticed that this mail, and the coupons, were advertisements for my "neighborhood Shell station".
A mapquest search shows this "neighborhood" Shell is 112 miles from my house, and in a direction that I've driven only once in 20 years. I guess if I drove that far out of my way I would need to buy some gasoline.
